Established in 1997 by its founder and CEO, Roberto Ramos, TWS Maritime Service is an independent marine and cargo surveying company based in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil. Built upon nearly three decades of practical experience in maritime inspections and port operations, the company provides technical inspections and operational support to shipowners, charterers, vessel operators, P&I interests, cargo owners and their representatives. Our services include on/off-hire bunker and condition surveys, bunker quantity surveys, draft surveys, cargo hold cleanliness inspections, cargo condition and damage surveys, loading and discharging supervision, and port captain and supercargo services. During cargo operations, we provide regular updates, photographic records and detailed reports, enabling our clients to remain properly informed throughout the attendance. As a complementary activity, TWS also provides cargo loss adjusting and claims survey services involving maritime, road and air transportation. According to the instructions received, our attendance may include cargo condition and damage inspection, investigation of the circumstances, documentary analysis, photographic records, assessment of the apparent nature and extent of the loss, loss mitigation recommendations and preparation of a detailed technical report. TWS operates across Northern and Northeastern Brazil through experienced professionals and a trusted regional network. Our coverage includes Fortaleza, Pecém, Areia Branca, Guamaré, Natal, Cabedelo, Recife, Suape, Maceió, Salvador, Itaqui, Vila do Conde, Belém and other Brazilian ports upon request and subject to availability. We use appropriate digital resources and inspection equipment to support accurate calculations, efficient documentation and clear communication. On/Off-Hire Surveys & Condition Surveys

We carry out independent on/off-hire surveys at vessel delivery or redelivery. The attendance may include bunker quantity measurements, vessel condition inspection, verification of relevant documents, photographic records and delivery or redelivery certificates.

Bunker Quantity Surveys (including Detective Survey)

Our bunker quantity surveys include tank soundings or ullages, temperature and density verification, review of vessel documents and calculation of the fuel quantities remaining on board. A detailed report is issued with the survey results and supporting records.

Vessel Condition Surveys

We inspect the general condition of accessible areas of the vessel according to the agreed scope. The inspection may include cargo holds, hatch covers, main deck, cranes, accommodation areas and other relevant spaces, supported by photographic records and detailed observations.

Outturn Surveys

We monitor the condition and quantity of cargo during discharge and compare the observed results with the available shipping and cargo documents. Any apparent shortages, damage or irregularities are recorded and reported to the client.

Loading & Discharging Supervision

We provide continuous or periodic supervision of loading and discharging operations, monitoring cargo condition, handling, stowage, segregation, weather conditions, operational delays and other relevant events. Regular updates and photographic records are provided to the client.

Draft Surveys

We perform initial, intermediate and final draft surveys to determine the quantity of cargo loaded or discharged. Calculations consider the vessel’s drafts, displacement, ballast, bunkers, freshwater and other relevant variables.

Cargo Hold Cleanliness Inspections

We inspect cargo holds to assess their cleanliness and apparent suitability for the intended cargo. The inspection covers accessible tank tops, bulkheads, frames, bilges, loose rust, previous cargo residues and potential sources of contamination.

Port Captain & Supercargo Services

Port Captain and Supercargo services include operational coordination, cargo handling supervision, stowage monitoring, lashing, securing, dunnage, segregation, safety observations, progress control and regular reporting to the client.

Cargo Condition & Damage Surveys

We carry out independent inspections to record the condition of cargo and investigate reported damage. The attendance may include photographic evidence, examination of accessible cargo, review of relevant documents and recording of operational circumstances.

Hatch Cover Inspections

We perform visual inspections of hatch covers and accessible components to identify apparent conditions that may affect weathertightness and cargo protection. Additional testing may be arranged when included in the agreed scope.

P&I and Marine Claims Attendance

We provide independent attendance on behalf of P&I interests and other maritime parties to document incidents, cargo damage, vessel damage and relevant operational circumstances, according to the instructions received.

Cargo Lashing & Securing Supervision

We supervise cargo lashing, securing, shoring, chocking and dunnage arrangements according to the agreed scope, recording the work performed and reporting relevant observations to the client.

Cargo Loss Adjusting & Claims Surveys

In addition to its core maritime services, TWS provides independent cargo surveys and loss adjusting services involving sea, road and air transportation. Our attendance may include cargo condition and damage inspections, investigation of transport incidents, documentary analysis, photographic records, assessment of the apparent nature and extent of loss, loss mitigation recommendations and preparation of detailed technical reports. Inspections may be carried out at ports, terminals, warehouses, roads, trucks, airports and other locations where an independent technical assessment is required. We act independently and impartially, according to the instructions received and the available evidence, without prejudging liability or insurance coverage.
